A chillable, easy-drinking Etna red and a tribute to the bulk "sfuso" wines that once defined the area. Mostly Nerello Mascalese with small amounts of Nerello Cappuccio, Grenache and local white grapes, fermented with native yeasts, aged in old barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bright red cherry fruit with subtle spice; best served cool. Vintage: 2022.

About the producer
Vino di Anna is a small natural wine estate on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in Sicily, run by winemaker Anna Martens and her partner Eric Narioo, founder of the UK natural wine importer Les Caves de Pyrène. Anna first came to Etna to work at the Passopisciaro estate, and together they fell for the volcano. They farm old, bush-trained (alberello) vines at high altitude, organically and by hand: mostly Nerello Mascalese, alongside local white grapes such as Grecanico, Catarratto and Carricante. The wines are fermented with native yeasts in a range of vessels, from the traditional stone palmento to old barrels and Georgian qvevri, with little or no added sulphur.
