An unfiltered, unblended extra virgin olive oil made from 100% Koroneiki olives grown in the small groves around Kyparissia, in Messinia, Greece. The olives are harvested early and cold-pressed the same day, never above 27 °C, and the oil is never filtered, heated or mixed with other oils. It keeps the natural sediment from the olive skins, which gives it its cloudy green colour and rich texture: shake well before use. Expect fresh-cut grass and a peppery punch at the end, with a very low acidity of around 0.2–0.3%. The 1 litre can features black-and-white artwork by illustrator Dóra Berczi.

About the producer
Honest Toil is run by Tom and Juli, a British-Hungarian couple who fell in love with Greece when Tom's family moved to Kyparissia in the Western Peloponnese. Suddenly responsible for a small olive grove, they learned to harvest from their neighbours and pressed their first oil at the village press. What began as sharing their surplus at Berlin flea markets and Budapest cafés became a full-time project. Today they work directly with nearby small, family-owned farms growing the same Koroneiki olives, picked by hand with traditional low-impact methods and pressed the same day in three local, family-run presses. Instead of buying more land, they chose to cooperate with their neighbours, guaranteeing them a fair income and offering full traceability from grove to table.
